Toni Bergeon is an award winning fiber artist who considers herself a storyteller of nature. Fiber art is the medium she uses to showcase the beauty of nature and her love of the outdoors, often using one of her photos as the inspiration for her artwork.
Growing up on a lake in northern Wisconsin contributed to a passion for wilderness areas and the importance of parks and recreation areas. It also triggered an appreciation for the colors, textures and overall beauty found outside. Her vision of bringing the outside in and encouraging viewers to be more observant is accomplished by using rich colors, detail, depth and dimension.
She teaches workshops in monoprinting, sun printing, landscapes, color, fusing and machine quilting for quilt guilds, art centers, local resorts, and private individuals. She has developed a special interest and passion for Artist-in-Residence programs where there is opportunity to get outside and explore new environments, learn about new cultures and landscapes, and bring fiber art education to various communities.
Toni studies annually with nationally known teachers and exhibits regularly with the fiber art group, Women Who Run With Scissors, where she has been a long time member. This eclectic group of fourteen women will be featured in the upcoming Winter 2023 issue of Quilting Arts Magazine.
She is also a member of the national organization Studio Art Quilters Association (SAQA); Fiber Artisans in Green Bay, Wisconsin; and the Art Gypsies in Northern Wisconsin. Her work can be found at Artistree Gallery in Land O’Lakes, Wisconsin, and at Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area Visitor Center in Lovell, Wyoming, as well as at several fine art shows throughout the year. Articles and photos of her work have been published in various publications, such as Sandra Sider’s book, 1000 Quilt Inspirations.
Toni lives on an island in Minocqua, Wisconsin, with ever-changing views of the Northwoods landscape. Her other interests are spending time with family, photography, reading, canoeing, hiking and traveling.
